School is in Session!
Summer has come and gone and soon it’ll be time again for the kids to hit the books! The end of the season also means your schedule is about to get way busier. Prepping for those first few weeks back in school means stocking up on supplies, and new backpacks. It also means it’s time to get your home in order for the impending school year rush.
Here are some ways you can make the before and after school routines a bit easier on yourself and on the kitchen.
C is for Clutter
With the kids home all summer, it’s likely that your kitchen organization has gotten a bit out of control. Avoid any further disorganization now by taking the time to put things back in order!
Go through the pantry and donate what you no longer need, clean out the refrigerator, and get the junk drawer to shut again. You can even get the kids in on the fun by having them go through the Tupperware drawer and match containers to lids.
Clean Up, Clean Up, Everybody Do Their Share
Start the year off fresh with a clean kitchen. Clean the refrigerator, the cupboards, and the countertop thoroughly so your lunch making station is more efficient. Trust us, it will make your not-a-morning-person mornings a little easier.
If your drain is a little smelly, try pouring baking soda and vinegar down it to kill the bacteria and nasty ordors along with it. Allow it to sit for thirty minutes before flushing with water.
Study Up on Your Plumbing
Take time to assess the state of the plumbing fixtures in your kitchen. Now is the time to schedule any needed repairs, before you’re carting kids off to football practice and school dances.
If your garbage disposal has been on the fritz, your dishes are coming out of the dishwasher dirtier than ever, or you notice a leak under the sink, give Atlas Plumbing a call.
